Marbling Detail
Detail of recent, three-toned rosa marbling work by the Painted Image team at a place of worship in Sydney. Marble Painting is a technique for imitating the texture of natural marble by painting, dabbing, and blending various colours. The basic technique is to brush a tinted glaze over a white ground, then sponge lightly. Veining can be added by applying oil colours with a small brush, then blurring the lines by dry-brushing. Several coats of varnish are usually applied.
