Graythwaite, Heritage Building Restoration: Shore School North Sydney. The entrance Hallway to Graythwaite has been treated with gold leaf on column capitols, corner bullnoses and archways. Skirtings have been woodgrained. The Original Ballroom: Woodgraining of the archway, windows, architraves and skirting boards. Cedar Timber finish with two layers of satin varnish. All finishes completed with water based paints and pigments. The traditional fire place at Graythwaite had damaged slate. We matched it up to the fire place in the room next door. The result was stunning. Hand painted marble finish with 5 layers. Completed with two coats of an oil based marine varnish. Hand painted stencil to match existing heritage pattern. All the colours for the stencil had to be hand mixed to try and match up the exact colours after ageing and ruin.
